Bridgeport police announced Sunday that they have made an arrest in last week's attempted abduction case.
Police say 38-year-old Towanna Randall, of New Haven, faces charges for allegedly luring and then sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl who was walking to school Monday morning.
Randall has been charged with sexual assault, unlawful restraint and reckless endangerment.
As News 12 has reported, the victim was able to get away by jumping out of Randall's moving car on Boston Avenue.
Surveillance video from Bridgeport's Safe Corridor Program captured the victim's escape.
Investigators were able to find Randall's abandoned car thanks to the surveillance video and tips from the public.
Police say Randall has an extensive criminal history that includes charges for robbery and selling drugs.
Randall is being held on $100,000 bond.
