Bridgeport police are warning people to be extremely careful about donating to charities claiming to support the families of murder victims.Authorities say they've had reports of bogus collection teams working the streets. Arlene Mercer, who runs a charity to help victims' families pay funeral costs, claims scam artists claiming to represent her nonprofit have been using her name to illegally raise money.Police point out that most legitimate funeral funds are organized through banks or funeral homes.
