Republican candidate Donald Trump's campaign confirmed Friday that he is coming to Bridgeport ahead of the state's primary elections on Tuesday.

According to his campaign, Trump will speak Saturday at the Klein Memorial Auditorium at 12:30 p.m. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. He will also be visiting a high school in Waterbury.

Dr. Gary Rose, a Sacred Heart University professor and chair in the Department of Government, Politics and Global Studies, says Trump is making his second stop in Connecticut to ensure he gets all of the delegates he can during Tuesday's primary.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich also made his second appearance in Connecticut Friday night in Glastonbury, while Sen. Ted Cruz's campaign hasn't indicated he will be making a stop in the state. Dr. Rose isn't surprised by this, and says many Connecticut Republicans are more moderate voters.

On the Democratic side, the Hillary Clinton campaign announced Friday morning that she will visit New Haven and the University of Bridgeport on Sunday. 

"Hillary wants everyone to know that she has a footprint in as many states as possible. And at this point, she's really pivoting to the general election," Dr. Rose says.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will also appear Sunday at the New Haven Green with former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe and Monday in Hartford.
