From Long Island to New York City, home prices are hot right now for our region.
Caleb Silver, editor in chief at Investopedia, says, "Home prices have gone nothing but higher across the major counties we track in New York, especially out on Long Island. Nassau County has seen an 8.2% increase year over year, the average home price there $777,000. Suffolk County, up almost close to 8% you are looking at $660,000 for an average home price there. Westchester County, 6.5% and if you are looking where prices have stabilized believe it or not it is in and around NYC. Prices are only up 1.3%, but the average home price in NYC around $755,000."
Manny Pantiga with Pantiga Group took us to a recent listing in the Bronx that he says will go fast.
For buyers on the fence he says think about this, "If anyone would have purchased a home this time a year ago, they would have seen on average a 7.4% increase in value for the property."
And Pantiga feels this winter would be a good time to buy, before people start gearing up for the spring season.
