The owl that made headlines for hiding in the Rockefeller Christmas tree as it was transported to Manhattan was released back into the wild Tuesday.
The owl, who has garnered the name Rocky, has been cared for by the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center since she arrived in the city last week.
The wildlife center says that when it first was able to treat Rocky it was about three days since she ate or drank anything, but that the center was able to fully nurse her back to health and allow her to make her return to the wild in upstate New York.
