It's Christmas time in East Hampton – the village's annual Santafest was held Saturday.
Santa traded in his sleigh and reindeer for a helicopter, landing at Herrick Park to kick off the day’s events.
The Santafest parade marched through the Village of East Hampton, spreading holiday cheer for all to hear. But the Grinch could be seen lurking among paradegoers.
After the parade, families waited in line to see the big man himself and snap a picture with Old Saint Nick.
"This builds a sense of community. We have about 4,000 people come here for Santafest," said Bradford Billet, with the East Hampton Village Foundation.
All the events at Santafest were free. A holiday market was open for business for some shopping with local vendors.
Families say they're feeling the holiday spirit.
"I'm here with my baby Julian. He's only seven months so it's our first Christmas," said Juan Mudina of East Hampton.
Other fun activities at Santafest included a gingerbread house competition, cookie decorating and a screening of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
The day concluded with a tree and menorah lighting ceremony in Herrick Park.
