Sen. Richard Blumenthal is demanding answers following a host of complaints about bedbugs and rats at a senior apartment complex in Norwalk.
A group called Fix Cedar Court Now! says residents have been making the same complaints for months, but nothing has been done to address the problems.
Resident Robert Pascarelli says the complex is retaliating against him because he blew the whistle by contacting the Health Department.
"If I could get out of there I would, but I'm on social security, you can't get into any other senior housing, the list are four, five years, some of them," he says.
Sen. Blumenthal says the owner of the property needs to fix things as soon as possible.
"Cedar Court receives federal money. It ought to be held accountable for providing decent housing with that taxpayer money," he says.
News 12 reached out to the complex for comment.
