A woman says she was sexually assaulted at Fairfield University Monday night, according to police.
Fairfield police say they responded to a 911 call from the campus just before 11 p.m. after a female student reported she was physically and sexually assaulted while walking in between two buildings.
The university says the victim was lured from a path to the woods. It says the campus community was immediately notified of the incident and reminded students not to walk alone at night.
The university also released a statement, saying, "The safety and protection of our students, faculty, and staff remains a top priority for us."
Police say the victim described her attacker as a man around 40 years old. They say they are working with campus security to see if any cameras caught images of the suspect.
Anyone with information is asked to call Fairfield police.
