Authorities say a Shelton High School student was killed in a rollover crash early Sunday morning.
Police say 17-year-old Ed Conklin was found on the side of the road outside his vehicle.
The crash happened on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton between Crown Point Plaza and Long Hill Cross Road.
The headmaster at Shelton High School says Conklin was an honors student who was on the baseball and basketball teams.
Shelton High School Headmaster Dr. Beth Smith says students are trying to come to terms with the loss of one of their peers. She says school counselors and psychologists were available Monday and met with Conklin's basketball team Sunday night.
She also says the site of the crash was where another Shelton student died about 20 years ago.
Funeral arrangements for Conklin are pending.
Headmaster Smith says a school memorial has not yet been planned.
