A Darien man self-identified himself to the town after he discovered he had coronavirus.
The man said his son tried out for a youth lacrosse team in town and children may have been at risk.
The town says they're monitoring if the man's children develop any symptoms.
First Selectwoman Jayme Stevenson says social distancing can help prevent the spread of the virus.
"Don't hang out at your local deli with a gang of friends and hang out at the local Starbucks," Stevenson says. "We still want people to be frequenting those businesses but being mindful that unintended exposure can really impact people who are elderly and medically vulnerable in every significant way."
Stevenson is also reminding people to stay calm.
