State Sen. Bob Duff visited Norwalk on Sunday to announce that the speed change lane on the southbound side of I-95 is now officially open.
Sen. Duff says that the new lane will make for a faster commuting experience, with less traffic congestion and backups.
He says that this is the last leg of a $42 million transportation improvement project that began in June 2012.
"We have had the northbound speed change lane open in December, the southbound speed change lane just opened, the three bridges have been replaced, the drainage is completed for Connecticut Avenue," he says.
The senator says final touches to the project will be road paving and signage, which he expects to be completed by the end of next month.
