Stamford fire officials say they have not found any evidence of explosions after over a dozen calls from residents reporting tremors.
Fire officials say two rounds of calls came from near River Road first around 6:30 p.m. Thursday and then again Friday around 3:45 a.m.
Officials say they contacted the U.S. Geological Survey but have not yet heard back.
They say officials at Eversource and the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. reported no unusual activity in the area.
“The Stamford Fire Department understands the concerns raised by these reports and the unease they may cause,” officials said in a statement. “However, based on thorough investigations conducted by multiple fire department units, as well as confirmations from the Tennessee Gas Pipeline and Eversource Gas, we feel confident reassuring Stamford residents that there is no ongoing threat to life or property.”
