A park in Stamford and shops nearby are covered by hearts that were placed by students, who say they wanted to show their passion for civil rights in a creative way.

A park in Stamford and shops nearby are covered by hearts that were placed by students, who say they wanted to show their passion for civil rights in a creative way.
For several hours Wednesday afternoon, people and families with children went to Columbus Park to cut out hearts and write messages about George Floyd, tolerance and their hope for change.
The high school seniors who put it together say they wanted to give people a way to express their solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement in a way that was less crowded and more family friendly.
Hannah McDonald, of Stamford, says in just a few days on social media, she got an impressive show of support and donations including thousands of sheets of colored paper.
