Stamford police crack down on bad behavior from beachgoers
Stamford police say they are cracking down on disorderly behavior in local parks and beaches after several complaints.
People at Cummings Beach told News 12 Monday that police presence is necessary. They say it's especially bad there during the weekends, when there are more groups of people. The beachgoers say that’s when they really notice problems with drinking and loud music.
The Stamford Police Department enacted a quality of life detail at Cummings Beach this past weekend. Within hours, the police department issued multiple tickets for different offenses, including public urination, drug and alcohol possession and public disturbance.
Police say they will continue the quality of life details in all city parks and beaches throughout the summer months.
