Stamford police and school officials responded to a threat to blow up every school and every municipal building in the city Wednesday.
Authorities said the message was left at the Board of Education overnight. Police said they are investigating a person of interest who may have left the threat. They also don?t believe the threat is credible.
Police said they have been in contact with the schools in the district and advised them that it isn?t necessary to take additional security precautions, aside from the typical protocols.
Updates were posted on the Stamford School District?s Web site throughout the day to let people know the threat wasn?t credible and that schools were operating as normal. Though there were earlier reports that the schools have been locked down, police and the district said that was not the case.
