State officials are now investigating the car crash that killed an infant in Danbury last week.
Police say the baby girl was hit by a car in the parking lot of a housing complex on Shelter Rock Road.
A spokesperson says the Department of Children and Families opened an investigation because the incident could have been prevented.
The Office of the Medical Examiner says the death was an accident and that the baby died of blunt force trauma.
