The parade of storms marches on with light to moderate snow tonight. Less than 24 hours after this storm, the next one will arrive. How many more storms are expected this week?

OVERNIGHT SNOW: Snow showers from the south will overspread the borough with the steadiest snow likely between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Even though the snow won't be heavy, the light and fluffy consistency will allow it to stick and stack up quickly. A few snow showers could accumulate a couple of inches on the ground. Snow showers should exit by the morning commute, limiting significant travel impacts. Those who are traveling at night will still contend with slippery conditions.
HOW MUCH SNOW? The heavy, 6-12 inch totals will stay well south of the borough. A sharp cutoff will likely set up near the borough, with totals ranging a couple of inches depending on the neighborhood. Northern parts of the borough, like Riverdale and Wakefield, may barely see a coating. Southern parts of the borough, like Mott Haven and ClasonPoint, could approach 2 inches. .
WEDNESDAY: Wednesday is a dry day but a brief wintry mix moves in between 7-9 p.m. As warm air wins out with this rather-weak storm, any mixing will change to rain by midnight. The rain will not be heavy but on-and-off rain showers are expected to continue into the morning commute.
THURSDAY: Have the umbrellas handy for Thursday morning. By the afternoon, the sunshine returns and it will briefly be warmer, into the mid-40s. Valentine's Day Friday is also dry, but colder. ANOTHER STORM: A third storm arrives later Saturday and lasts through Sunday afternoon, and it will likely be the strongest of the three storms. Expect more of a snow and wintry mix to start Saturday evening, a break at night, then rain with a possible thunderstorm on Sunday. Then, the arctic cold returns early next week.
Stay tuned not only for this storm, but for the next several storms that loom afterwards as a parade of storms continue and follow Allan @AWxNYC for hyperlocal updates.
