Middle school students from all over southwestern Connecticut competed in a robotics tournament at Greenwich Academy Saturday.
The students used Legos powered by robotics to send their creations through obstacle courses.
The top winners will advance to the first Lego League Tournament in December. The winners from that tournament will then move on to the national tournament next year.
Organizers say the event helps create future engineers.
