Several industries in Connecticut are seeing job growth including transportation, accommodations, academia and wholesale merchandise.
However, the unemployment rate in Connecticut is 4.4%, which is a little higher than the national average, Investopedia's Caleb Silver says.

For people looking for a job, Silver tells News 12 wages have risen 7.4% year over year for seasonal summer jobs at hotels, restaurants and bars, averaging $24 an hour.
