The Westport VFW held its monthly blood drive on Wednesday.
The club has held a blood drive every month for the last four years.
In that time, it has collected blood from over 2,000 donors.
According to the American Red Cross, one unit of blood could save up to three lives.
That is why organizers like Red Cross account manager Stephanie Chase, are encouraging anyone to donate.
"Ironically, there is no upper age limit anybody can donate," Chase said. "You can be 100 years old and still donate. Some things that could defer you are medications you are on or a medical alignment you might have. But most people can donate. We encourage you to go to RedCrossBlood.org and make an appointment today."
