Norwalk Hospital will undergo its largest expansion in its 126-year history thanks to a $15 million donation from a Wilton couple.
George and Carol Bauer are longtime supporters and benefactors of the hospital. The money will be used to construct a new patient pavilion.
The pavilion will bring new critical care, surgical, women's and pediatrics facilities to the area.
The Bauers say they've led a fortunate life and enjoy giving back to their community.
The couple has been donating to Norwalk Hospital since 1987. Their gifts helped establish an emergency care center, a newborn intensive care unit and a nursing scholarship.
