Two women appeared before a judge on Friday to face charges after a home invasion that led to a police chase.
Stratford police say they got a call that a woman broke into a home on Johnson Lane Thursday night and then took off in a white SUV.
They say numerous officers chased the SUV down I-95 into Norwalk, where state police laid down spikes to stop the Chevy Blazer. The chase ended on West Avenue.
Police say they arrested the driver, 44-year-old Tamara Ann Ciccio and her passenger, 33-year-old Josefina Rodriguez, and charged them both with home invasion and other charges.
Stratford police say they know that a police chase always carries risks, but say they went ahead with it because one of the women is a suspect in another home intrusion.
Both women are being held on bond. Due to the unusual nature of the crime, the public defender has asked for a psychiatric examination of the defendants.
