A group of Bridgeport homeowners says they're furious about plans by the city's Water Pollution Control Authority to foreclose on their homes.
The residents met with Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who vowed to help them get their problem resolved.
City officials say unpaid utility bills have led to the foreclosure of more than 1,200 homes over the past 10 years.
The WPCA says the decision to foreclose on homes with unpaid utility bills is both legal and necessary.
Blumenthal and the homeowners say lawyers handling these cases are making profits off hard-working families who deserve the chance to make good on their debts.
