Maryam Clinic is now fully operational and offering vital prenatal and postnatal services.
Located in Norwood, the clinic provides midwifery and OB-GYN care, prenatal acupuncture, lactation support and other essential health services for mothers and families in the community.
The clinic recently received its Medicaid number, paving the way to soon accept insurance – a step that co-founder Dr. Carla Williams says will make care more accessible to insured patients.
“It’s a big step for us to provide our services to everyone who needs them,” Williams said.
The clinic’s founders are still working to secure funds to expand into a full-scale birthing center – the first of its kind in the Bronx.
Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, who toured the clinic, voiced her support for the project and noted the clinic’s potential to reduce health disparities in maternal care.
The clinic is currently accepting appointments through its website.
