Burst pipes in a Bridgeport house displaced a woman and her children this week, she says.
Yarelis Rivera says housing officials who oversee her apartment on Dewey Street told her she had to vacate on Wednesday.
The officials told Rivera that basement flooding in the house created a fire hazard, which in turn poses a danger to her and her family, she says.
Housing officials are paying for the family to stay at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Bridgeport while she seeks a new apartment, Rivera says.
Officials gave her a housing voucher to help her relocate, but she says she can't afford a security deposit on new place.
Housing officials have not yet responded to a News 12 request for comment.
