Chef Arturo-Franco Camacho, of
Camacho Garage and Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill, shows
News 12's Tina Redwine how to make tortillas.
Ingredients:
2 cups corn masa flour
1 1/2 cups water
Directions:
In a deep bowl, combine corn masa flour and water. Knead with your hands to form a soft and smooth dough.
Divide dough into 19 equal portions and make dough balls. Place one at a time on a tortilla press lined top and bottom with plastic wraps. Press firmly to make a thin tortilla.
Place the tortilla in a skillet or griddle on medium-high heat and cook for 30 minutes seconds on each side, turning the tortilla 3 times.
Serve the tortillas with green, red or Mexican salsa, salt, butter or fresh cheese.
