Chef's Quick Tips: Balsamic honey glazed ham
This week Chef Bill Hall of Roasted in Stamford shares with Tina Redwine various holiday recipes.
Balsamic honey glazed ham
2 cup honey of your choice
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/4 teaspoon granulated onion
Directions:
Heat oven to 200 degrees
Prepare the Glaze
Mix all ingredients together
Place ham in a covered roasting pan. Roast in oven about 22 minutes per pound or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees

Uncover roasting pan, brush glaze on ham and roast with out cover for five to ten minutes more.
Reserve the rest of the glaze to serve with the ham.
Note: cured hams are completely cooked when you purchase them. When reheating, the ham needs to reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees. It is better to achieve this in a low temperature oven (such as 200 degrees) . Although a higher temperature oven reaches the required temperature faster the end result is a dry ham. Lower temperature yields a tender juicy ham.
