Construction began on a Bronx step street to give pedestrians a safer route.
The step street links Clay and Teller avenues near 168th Street in Claremont.
The city closed down the step street nearly two months ago, but plans have been in the works since 2012.
The city's Department of Design and Construction says renovations include improvements to the ground plaza, the steps and the retaining wall.
News 12 has learned that the wall will be finished by the fall.
