Country superstar Garth Brooks was in the Bronx Tuesday to promote his upcoming concert at Yankee Stadium.
Brooks is bringing his world tour to the Bronx on July 9. His wife, Trisha Yearwood, will also perform. Brooks took time off to raise his kids and hasn't played in New York City since his Central Park concert in 1997.
"There are going to be cities that you can kind of just go out and relax and do your thing. Here, you better be on your game because they come with their game prepared," says Brooks. "Every place we have played here and everyone has kind of welcomed Garth Brooks, which is odd because I really don't fit in here right, but they have made me feel like a son of this city."
The tour has already sold four million tickets. Tickets for Yankee Stadium go on sale Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m.
