Firefighters are urging residents to use caution when preparing holiday meals and plugging in Christmas trees.
Officials say the holiday season is the busiest time of year for emergency responses. They say Christmas trees, candles and the use of multiple electrical outlets are usual suspects for causing emergencies.
Firefighters say residents should remember to shut off appliances and holiday decorations before heading to any holiday parties.
They also say to make sure that your Christmas tree is well-watered before leaving your home.
