Gov. Ned Lamont signed a bill to advance Connecticut's 5G wireless technology.
Lamont was joined by representatives from telecommunications companies Monday outside the Ferguson Library.

The new bill will accelerate the deployment of high-speed, 5G wireless technology throughout the state.

The governor says it's important to speed up data and keep up with advancing technology.
"5G is going to make sure that we're at the technological forefront and this is a platform on which a lot of businesses and opportunities are going to grow. And that's why I'm proud to be able to sign this bill," Lamont says.
The new legislation will help streamline the process of installing 5G infrastructure throughout the state, including finding solutions for areas that have their utilities and wires underground.
