Greenwich police want to remind residents not to exit their vehicles if they are involved in a crash with downed wires.
Police say on Friday a motor vehicle crashed into a telephone pole on Field Point Road.
The crash caused an entire pole along with wires to come down.
Pictures sent to News 12 of the incident show the driver out of the vehicle. They were later interviewed by officers on scene.
Police say by getting out of one's vehicle, people have a higher chance of being electrocuted.
They say people need to wait for the fire department and the power company to be safely removed them from their vehicle.
Field Point Road between Intervale Place and Augustus Lane was closed for several hours, but reopened Saturday morning.
