The Connecticut Rail Commuter Council blames state and federal bureaucracy for standing in the way of vital repairs on the Norotons Heights Train Station.
Council Chairman Jim Cameron says there is $1.6 million available in stimulus funds to fix the station, but Metro-North and the state Department of Transportation are slowing the work as they try to get their share of the money.
"Another construction season is going to go by, and because of the paperwork and bureaucracy, federal stimulus money that was supposed to create jobs and be spent to improve mass transit is not going to get spent," says Cameron.
