Lawmakers in Newtown held a press conference Wednesday blasting Eversource officials over their response to Tropical Storm Isaias.

Newtown's First Selectman Dan Rosenthal says around 200 residents still don't have power as of Wednesday morning.

Rosenthal says half of the town was still in the dark two days ago, nearly a week after Isaias.

"No matter how hard I tried calling and trying to get things elevated, I could not get crews to do simple things," Rosenthal says. 

Gov. Ned Lamont has called for PURA to launch an investigation into Eversource and United Illuminating's preparedness and response to the storm.

State and local leaders vowed to hold Eversource accountable.

Eversource says its crews have been working non-stop to restore power as quickly as possible.

Officials say power should be restored to their remaining customers by Thursday night.

PURA will hold a public hearing on the matter later this month.
