A memorial was held Monday for a couple from Bridgeport who died in a car crash last month.
Gisela Gil-Egui and Jose Labrador were killed Dec. 30 when a wrong-way driver hit the car they were in at an airport in Florida.
Gil-Egui taught at Fairfield University for 12 years and Labrador was the director of education technology at Housatonic Community College.
Friends say the couple dedicated their lives to teaching the next generation.
"It was a privilege to love them and I'm trying to remember that I could only avoid the pain I now feel by having not known them in the first place, and that would have been a tragedy too horrible to contemplate," says Lynn Babington, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Fairfield University.
