Westport police and the Department of Human Services have announced a new voluntary registry for people with disabilities.
The new registry is confidential.
It was created to help officers and emergency personnel during incidents involving people with disabilities.
The program hopes to educate first responders on how to address their needs in order to avoid miscommunication.
