A popular Norwalk musician and business owner died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday, and tributes are pouring in from the community.
Tim Currie, 66, was performing with his band on the Norwalk Green when he died. Currie was the third generation in his family to run Currie's Tire and Auto on West Avenue.
He also performed in Tim Currie's Motown Band, where he played the drums for the group. The band was supposed to open for Norwalk's upcoming Oyster Festival.
Adam Currie and his brother, Tim Jr., say people have been calling all weekend to offer their condolences.
The wake is scheduled for Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Magner Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church.
The family says they're working on an annual tribute concert.
