Bronx residents say metal plates that are replacing pavement at the intersection of Olinville Avenue and Allerton Avenue are causing road hazards.

Drivers say that the plates are uneven, and water trapped underneath the plates splashes up when cars drive by. This can catch drivers by surprise.

The area also proves difficult for residents with strollers or scooters.

There are a number of senior centers in the neighborhood. Some residents say that the plates are creating an added obstacle for those who have a hard time getting around to begin with.

News 12 has reached out to the Department of Transportation. The department said it would need more time to look into the situation.
