The senior home care company Visiting Angels Homecare is surprising its clients with Mother's Day makeovers as the holiday approaches.
On Wednesday, representatives visited Ann Sweeney with a gift basket full of makeup, hair supplies, a teddy bear and a feather boa.
Sweeney, who worked as a music teacher, raised seven biological children and adopted 11 more.
First lady Barbara Bush honored her with the Outstanding Mother Award in the 1980s.
Sweeney's son, Patrick, says he doesn't know how she managed it all.
"It's a lot of hard work and perseverance," he says. "And I think a glass of wine at the end of the day helped out."
He might know. He was there firsthand, and now he's a music teacher too.
