Weston Middle School students were given a lesson in patriotism Monday from a U.S. Army company commander.
Maj. Mike Baka says it is his duty to help students learn the importance of Veterans Day. Baka has served two yearlong tours on Iraq's battlefields.
Through sharing harsh stories of the reality of war, Baka reiterated the importance of paying thanks to those serving overseas. The children heeded the advice of Baka and thanked him for his service, a sentiment the soldier says meant the world to him.
Baka is currently in between deployments.
