(04/28/08) STAMFORD - The teenage son of Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy appeared in court Monday where he applied for a program that could wipe out his recent drug arrest.
Police arrested Benjamin Malloy, 19, in November for allegedly selling marijuana. Police say Malloy sold the drugs to an informant who was wearing a wire. Officers say they later found traces of cocaine and drug paraphernalia at the Malloys' home.
Malloy has now applied for a pretrial diversionary program. If it?s granted, the teen?s record would be wiped clean pending the successful continuation of a rehab program and the avoidance of further charges for several years.
The judge is expected to make a decision on the program June 11.
