Police ID man fatally struck by car on I-95 in Stratford

Police have identified a man who was struck by a car and killed on I-95 in Stratford.

Levern Hall, 60, was pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday after investigators say he attempted to cross the highway near Exit 32 in Stratford.

Police say Meriam Jones was driving her car when Hall attempted to run towards the right shoulder of the southbound side of the highway and was struck by her car.

Jones was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for evaluation but no injuries were reported.

The accident closed the highway for several hours and caused major backups and delays.

State police say they are still investigating the incident.
