Towns throughout southwestern Connecticut have opened up cooling centers for residents amid the dangerous heat wave, including a pair in Stratford.
Stratford officials said not many residents took advantage of the center Tuesday, and no one stayed overnight Monday. Town Hall will remain open overnight.
"The mayor wanted to offer an opportunity, to all residents, a location to cool off," says Suzanne McCauley, Stratford's chief administrative officer.
