Tuesday would have been Charlie Capalbo's 24th birthday. The Fairfield native died on April 24 after a five-year battle with cancer.
Family and friends Tuesday donated $24 each to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in honor of Capalbo's birthday.
His hockey number was 30, but they say 24 was a significant number as well.
Capalbo was born on May 24, died on April 24 and received a lifesaving bone marrow transplant on 2/4/2019.
Nearly $34,000 has been raised in honor of Capalbo from this campaign and others.
