Torrington is holding its annual Christmas Village event for the 71st year.
The Christmas tradition began in 1948. The Torrington Parks and Recreation Department puts on the festive holiday event every year. It is free of charge to anyone who wants to attend.
Hundreds of families wait in line for hours to come see the Christmas Village. There are reindeers, elves, Mrs. Clause and a special appearance by Santa Clause himself.
For many, it is a magical moment to spend with family and a tradition that passes from generation to generation.
