Firefighters say two people were injured in an early morning crash on Route 8 South in Harwinton around 1:30 a.m.

Two vehicles were involved, and one person had to be freed from a vehicle.

Crews also responded to a fluid spill at the scene.

There is no word yet on the conditions of those hurt.
