Connecticut marked Holocaust Remembrance Day Friday with its 43rd annual Holocaust Commemoration at the State Capitol.
Dozens of people attended the event inside the Senate chambers, including Vivian Zoe, of Norwich.
Zoe's parents escaped Germany, but her grandparents stayed and died in a concentration camp.
"They remained, and I'll never know why because they were murdered - sent immediately to the gas chambers upon arrival at Auschwitz," she says.
