The NYPD and its Hate Crime Unit are investigating after anti-Semitic graffiti was found at a Riverdale playground last week.
Police say four swastikas and the words "kill Jews" were found written in chalk at McLaughlin Playground on Greystone Avenue and West 238th Street. The graffiti has since been removed.
The NYPD and the Hate Crime Unit were notified about the vandalism and classified it as aggravated harassment. No arrests have been made.
Rabbi Ari Hart says he is especially disgusted because Riverdale has a large Jewish population. He says he has always found it to be an open and tolerant community.
