The attorney for the family of the Rev. Tommie Jackson wants the officer who struck and killed him charged with manslaughter.
The Stamford pastor was struck and killed by Stamford Police Officer Zachary Lockwood last summer.
An investigation by state police stated that Lockwood was responding to a call when he crashed into the Rev. Jackson.
Lockwood was recently charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle.
The family's attorney, Darnell D. Crosland, wants to add manslaughter in the second degree.
The motion filed notes that Lockwood was not responding to an urgent call at the time of the crash and "disregarded" advisories to proceed with caution.
