State police say a Bridgeport man is dead after a van went off of I-95 south and burst into flames in Darien.
Troopers say 35-year-old Jimmy Munoz was killed in the crash that happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police say the SUV went up in flames after the driver hit several trees.
News 12 is told Munoz was a family man who worked at a hair salon in Bridgeport.
"Very creative, if you know Jimmy, Jimmy was a very fashionable individual, he was always well-dressed, well-mannered and there's nothing but great things we can say about him," says Lawrence Richardson, Munoz' friend.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
